明天我要去英国 – Míng tiān wǒ yào qù yīng guó
Tomorrow I am going to England. Yay!
My bag is packed and ridiculously light compared to when I arrived out here. I’m hardly taking any clothes home as I don’t need too! Most of the clothes that I am bringing back are to leave at home too.
But a few funnies from today’s classes.
The answer to the question “do you have an elephant?” should always be “no, I don’t,” but today I got a “yes, I do” answer. On further investigation the student’s uncle lives in a village with a small elephant. So it’s not technically the student’s, or even the uncle’s probably, but interesting to get a different answer at least!
In the same class we were doing “do you like….?” The students we’re coming up with the questions and one bright spark came up with asking the girls “do you like boys?”
Obviously, as soon as the girls got their turn, they were asking “do you like boys!” This progressed further with students asking “do you like Peter/Lily/Allen?”, at which point I has to step in and demonstrate that like meant as a friend, not as love all the time! However, I don’t think this really sunk in and they kept giggling about it.
Anyway, the next blog post will be from England!!! I’ll see you all very soon.
