Swindon Town: CAMPEONES, CAMPEONES, OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ

Swindon Town are League Two Champions!

swindon town league two champions Yes, I do have a nice post about my trip to my friends’s hometown to follow soon, but I can’t let the amazing events of this weekend pass by without a mention.

Finally, after 9 long months of hard, hard work, I can finally say “Swindon Town are League Two Champions!” We’d secured promotion last week at Gillingham, despite a loss and celebrated a little there. But Di Canio was not happy with the performance and still expected more from his players.

And boy did they deliver on Saturday?! A 5-nil drubbing of Port Vale showed the rest of the league why we are the best and hopefully will have the League One opposition quaking in their boots for the start of next season.

Some fantastic support from over 12,000 fans inside the stadium, on 4 sides of the ground. Lovely to see all the scarves held aloft for the minutes silence of the roll call, including the names of Paolo’s mother and father, which was read out. Fantastic scenes afterwards, including this beauty of a photo. And no, I have no idea what he’s doing either, but Simon Ferry sure knows how to celebrate!:

Obviously I was gutted not to witness the moment first hand but I will always be able to remember where I was on 28th April 2012 when Swindon lifted the 2011/2012 League Two trophy – dancing around my living room in Zhangzhou, China with a glass of vodka and mango juice!

We are the champions/ we are the champions/ no time for losers/ coz we are the champions/ of League Two!
